Life Is All Over The Place

Sarah Fudin Next Step Chronicle

Would you believe me if I told you that I haven’t moved since the last time I’ve written?  Well, you shouldn’t.  Alas, I’m in my third New York City apartment, but this one feels right.  Okay, I only moved up three flights of stairs, but now I live in the penthouse (of a sixth floor walkup) at a more affordable price.  I also discovered I have a roof on my building that I can sit on and read a good book.  My bedroom walls are still a lovely yellow and my roommate is still the same lovely lady.

On a work front, great things are happening at the education company I work at (2tor Inc).  Forbes named us one of ten startups changing the world and I’ve recently transitioned over to a role where I’ll be able to manage our social media and outreach for both our online Masters in Education and MSW program partners.  When I look back to a year ago, I’m floored by how much I’ve learned at work.  I feel so lucky to work at such an amazingly passionate company with really smart and passionate people.

I’m still working on keeping my New Years resolution to talk to my parent more often and smile every morning when I walk out my apartment onto the New York City streets.  It’s funny the mornings that I forget to smile on my way out and then in the instant I remember, I bare a huge teeth-bearing grin.  If you know me, this means a lot of teeth.  This also means a lot of people on the street looking really confused.  I like to think that whoever saw me feels super inclined to share a smile too.  Maybe you’ve seen me?

I’m excited that the Summer months are upon us.  I love the warm weather, the beach and of course my birthday which just happens to fall over the Summer.  If you’d like to send me a birthday wish, make sure to do so on 7/7 – the luckiest day all Summer!  Just writing about my birthday makes me excited – yes I’m one of those crazy birthday people who thinks the whole month of July is all about me… okay I don’t really think that, but I do love celebrating with family and friends.  It’s the perfect excuse to get every person you love together and enjoy each other’s company.

So, life is good.  Not too much has happened since my last entry in January and I feel okay about that.  I’m still looking for my next artsy endeavor that will inspire my creative craving, but until then I’m continuing to grow my arts and craft bin and of course taking constant trips to Michael’s Art Supplies store.  I’m also still running around with a lot of plans, visitors and activities, but lets be serious, I’ll always be doing this!

Till the next time I write…
