Inspiration Comes From Within

Motivation, inspiration, finding you

It’s possible to draw inspiration from all sorts of places.

Maybe there’s some powerful quote that keeps you going. Maybe your favorite song pumps you up. Maybe you’re even one of those people who can gain motivation from a poster with a nice picture and a comforting phrase.

For me, however, inspiration is something that can come from all around but is best from within.

There are times when something I watch or read will give me ideas, something to write about, or ways to play with a topic. Sometimes a really well-written character will inspire me to do something; we’ve all had that happen at least once. Even fictional characters or events can have a profound impact on our lives. Yet, those types of shows or characters can be rare and are inevitably just invented for the entertainment of others.

So, more often than not, I turn to myself.

By that, I don’t mean that I think of myself as awe-inspiring and inspirational – far from it. I simply mean that I count on myself to come up with the motivation I need. I have to believe that I can accomplish whatever it is that needs doing or think and come up with whatever ideas I may need. There are plenty of places to gain inspiration from, but only I can decide how I’m going to use it and what to do with said inspiration.

There’s not too much I can say outside of that. I’ll gain ideas and motivation from things I enjoy, but I have to be the one who puts said ideas and motivation to use. After all, I can’t expect someone else to get inspired for me.
